About David L. Peters, DO

Bio:

Dr. Peters is a urologist who specializes in treating male patients with sexual and urinary dysfunction using medical and surgical therapies including urologic prosthetics, implants and reconstructive surgery. He is considered a “high volume” penile implant and prosthetic surgeon. Dr. Peters is an attending urologist and sub-specialist in the Department of Urology at Stony Brook University Hospital. Being a part of a tertiary academic medical center allows him to work closely with an array of primary care providers and specialists, including cardiologists, endocrinologists and sleep medicine specialists, to diagnose and manage complex medical conditions that contribute to urinary and sexual dysfunction, emphasizing a well-rounded, whole-patient approach to improving their overall health and quality of life. Dr. Peters is part of the teaching faculty at the Renaissance School of Medicine, which allows him to share his knowledge and surgical expertise with medical students, as well as residents in the Stony Brook Urology residency training program. Dr. Peters is also an active educator in the community, regularly conducting patient education and primary care provider seminars throughout year on topics ranging from Peyronie’s disease, ED and ejaculatory dysfunction, to urethral stricture disease, urinary incontinence and BPH.
